April in a nutshell
April marks the transition from the cool, damp days of early spring to the milder days of late spring. The weather in April is notoriously unpredictable, with days swinging between sunshine and showers. We are eagerly awaiting the warmer days of summer while making the most of the longer daylight hours that this month brings. This April in particular however has seemed cooler, wetter and more unpredictable than normal and the fields around Newburgh have been relentlessly wet and muddy. I’m using this as my excuse for avoiding getting my running shoes on and getting out there.
Hence my reason to change things up a bit and join the gym. The new Volt Gym in Burscough is all singing all dancing and uber cool! The classes are excellent with plenty of them throughout the day from early morning and into the evening with great knowledgeable instructors. I’ve recently started the Fusion classes which are high energy interval training and Pilates classes in their gorgeous studio and often watch the sun rising through the huge glass windows as we begin our class. I would definitely recommend!
New beginnings and feeling like summer is just around the corner brings all those thoughts about eating healthier so I’ve been enjoying my new favourite lunch. Using our Lagom sourdough delivered every Wednesday and Friday I’m loving it toasted with cottage cheese, pea shoots and hot honey, it really is a taste sensation!
